As a fun side note, running into biased dice in a simulator might help a player build up a tolerance for the time when they play IRL and have real-life dice turn cold. I was just trying to sympathize with a new BB2 player and let him know that he won't be alone when he starts to think the dice aren't fair, but that the game is fun regardless of the dice. I wasn't looking for a mathematics, ethics, or computer programming debate though. The AI simply isn't very strong tactically and yes, the weighted dice I suppose are there to add some extra challenge. The AI in the game is actually pretty good at setting up some blocks, but I've had the computer (on "Hard") steal the ball and walk down to near my end zone, and then simply not move the next turn and fail to score for no reason. Why did they do it? I don't know, maybe they couldn't (or just didn't) program great AI. It's not a conspiracy theory, nor is it bitching and moaning, nor is a lack of understanding of probability or the law of large numbers. If you play the game, you will know the pain. In BB2 on steam, there IS a distinct edge of the dice toward the AI. In real life I've had runs of good and bad luck. You hate the game - and you keep playing the game anyway because you LOVE the game. A buddy of mine who streams his gameplay (and loves Dark Souls, for example) gets so frustrated that he rage-quits BB2 against the AI.īut it's an addiction and we all keep going back. The RNG is 100%, definitely, certifiably rigged in favour of the AI if you're playing solo. I also kept track of all the blocks thrown in each game (for a week) and also recorded the dice distribution that the BB2 provides at the end of each game. I've seen it here and in Steam forums, where someone complains about the RNG being rigged and other people go on and call them a crybaby or suggest the OP doesn't understand how statistics work, etc. If you play online against another human, there is no AI to favour/protect, so the RNG is a fair. If you turn up the AI difficulty to "Hard", the dice get noticeably better. The AI isn't good (you'll still win - it will just frustrate the heck out of you), so the game compensates with very, very crooked dice. I've had the computer get a knockdown against me on EVERY SINGLE 1-die block and EVERY SINGLE red-dice block for multiple games in a row. I've had Double skulls, re-roll, double skulls happen multiple turns in a row. If you're playing BB2 against the AI, insane things are the norm.
